Odds explainedWhat 5/2 really means
A 5/2 price says the bookmaker rates that outcome at roughly a 29% chance, about two in seven. So seven times out of ten that bet loses.
Every price includes the bookmaker’s margin, so the chances across all results add up to more than 100%. That margin is why most punters lose over a season, and why betting should only ever be paid entertainment.
