99 Royale: bet365 launches a 99-player slots battle
A new kind of slot game, where you play live against up to 98 other people. Here’s how it works, and what to keep in mind before you try it.
Something a bit different from the football this week. bet365 has launched 99 Royale, which it describes as the place “where battle royale meets slots”. Instead of spinning on your own, you join a live game with up to 99 real players. Your slot wins power attacks on other players, and the last ones left share a prize pot. It’s available now in the Slots section of bet365’s app and website for customers in the UK and Ireland.
- 1
Up to 99 real players per battle. According to the game’s published rules, a battle needs at least eight players to start, and there are no bots.
- 2
Slot wins become “power”. Every winning spin pays out to your account as normal and also fills a meter you use to attack other players.
- 3
The last few standing share the battle prize. Your share depends on where you finish and how much your wins added to the pot. Most players in a battle finish outside the prize places.
- 4
It’s still a game of chance. Spins and the power behind each attack are decided by a random number generator. Choosing who to target doesn’t change the odds of any spin.
- 5
Battles can’t be paused. Once you’re in, the game keeps going until it finishes. Only start one when you’ve got the time and the budget for it.

In more detailAttacks, knockouts and the prize pot
Each battle uses one slot game. At launch the games were Ragnarok, Ra the King and Cherry Blossom. As you spin, winning spins pay out like any other slot and also fill your attack meter. When you attack, you can pick a target: the player at the top of the leaderboard, whoever last attacked you, someone near the bottom, or a random opponent. A successful attack can knock a player out of the battle.
Part of every win also goes into the battle prize. When the battle ends, the last players still in share it, and first place gets the title of battle winner. Some battles also have side missions with extra prizes. One of these is Loot Crates, a large prize that’s won at random.
What we like
- +A genuinely new format for slots
- +Real players only, no bots
- +Wins are paid to you as you go
What to weigh up
- !Fast, continuous play that can’t be paused
- !Only the top finishers share the prize
- !Competing against other players can make it harder to stop
We’re football people, so we came to this as a curiosity. The format is clever, and watching a leaderboard shrink in real time is more involving than spinning on your own. That’s also the reason to be careful. Clever targeting won’t change your odds, and there’s no form guide or team news to study: every spin is random. If you try it, set a budget, treat it as paid entertainment, and close it when the budget’s gone.
Our verdicts are opinions, not advice. No outcome is ever certain.
“Every spin is random. Picking a target doesn’t change the odds.”
Read the rules, then decide

One battle. One budget.
Slots are fast, and a live battle against other people can make it harder to walk away. Decide what you’re happy to lose before you start, and use bet365’s deposit limits and reality checks. Don’t play if any of these sound like you:
- You’re playing to win back money you’ve lost
- You’ve already spent more than you planned this month
- You’re playing to cope with stress or boredom, or after a drink
- You’d struggle if you lost what you’re about to stake
